Blurriness in Part of Visual Field: Patients who attempt to rehabilitate their vision after eye injuries or a failed refractive surgery often have unusual experiences with RGP lenses or soft lenses that are difficult to describe. Sometimes, part of the visual field is in focus, and part isn't...this can occur as soon as the lens is inserted, or can develop over time, as the lens and the eye dry out, or as the cornea molds under the influence of the lens. Vision with the lens may be good initially, and then slowly progress to something weird, intolerable, and perhaps cloudy, until artificial tears are again applied. Patients who are successfully fitted may report just the reverse: That an RGP lens is inserted, and that vision slowly normalizes over time.
