Lasik. Easily one of the most complex simulations I've ever done. The first image required 58 revisions. Note that the patient's vision was horrific even through an RGP lens. There were two sets of procedures. The first was attempted by a junior surgeon. Right eye was completed but left eye had a thin flap and was aborted. Some experts maintained the flap was a buttonhole; others said simply that it was "thin flap," not a through and through buttonhole. The second set of procedures by a more experienced surgeon resulted in a buttonhole to the left eye and worsened the patient's vision. Right eye regressed both times, more after the first time than the second.
